Fall and NaNoWriMo

Fall has arrived. The mornings are crisp, the leaves are changing, and Halloween is almost here. It’s hard to believe that next Monday is November 1st. This year has flown by. On the bright side, November is NaNoWriMo and I am participating this year. I will be working on my next book. I started doing research for it so I wouldn’t have to take time away from writing. I’m looking forward to writing this book. It’s an idea that has been brewing in the back of my mind for a while now.

For those who are unfamiliar with NaNoWriMo, it stands for National Novel Writing month and the goal is to write a novel with the minimum of 50,000 words during the month of November. That averages to 1667 words a day. You’re strictly writing a rough, first draft novel. No editing, no rewriting, just getting the story written. The editing and rewriting comes later. NaNoWriMo is to get creative juices flowing and develop a writing habit.
