Sun, Cicadas, and Snow

Another beautiful, sunny afternoon. It’s hard to believe that almost two months ago, we had a freak April snow. Although the snow did look gorgeous on the spring lilacs that were blooming, the tease of spring warmth was replaced by cold, and just when I thought it would never get warm, it’s now almost summer and the cicadas are out in full force. I’ve had to work on my book inside because of the cicadas. Their noise doesn’t bother me- it’s the cicadas themselves that bother me. The creepy, annoying creatures with their long, scratchy legs, and beady, red eyes that have that “Starship Trooper-ish” insect look (Okay- maybe a slight exaggeration there). And, much to my chagrin, they seem to delight in divebombing me and cling to my clothes. Yuck. I’m glad they only come around every seventeen years.

Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a cicada. Yeah… Nevermind…

My book is coming along. I’m now in the editing phase and hope to have it polished by the end of June. I start my next book in July. Looking forward to starting my next book journey.
